The Strikeforce Update (as of 27 June): MTT on 29 Jun '08 Sunday
Dear Strikeforce,
MTT is ON this Sun 29 Jun, and we'll be having it from 6-8pm at Joo Chiat office. It will be after the auditions for DCA & SBC which will be held there earlier in the afternoon. For those who can come earlier at 5pm, we need manpower to help shift drums from Katong Mall to office.
Let's get ready for another fun time of training and fellowship! Remember to practice on your Flightphesy & Hip Pickle parts so we can move on to learn more things during MTT. Pls access the SF Update blog after reading this to update your attendance or let your Contact Head know directly. Let's be accountable to God and to the leaders He has placed over our lives.
Remember the special projects that were assigned out during last MTT? They have been initiated since more than half a year ago but most of the project leaders have not gotten back to Boon. We need to be more pro-active in moving the projects along and coming up with ideas to test or implement. Bottomline is accountability, both to ourselves as well as to Boon, cos our word is our bond! From now on we'll need to monitor the progress of all the projects, so please work closely with your project leaders! Just as a recap, these are the special projects that are on-going at the moment:

From now on we'll need to monitor the progress of all the projects, so please work closely with your project leaders! Just as a recap, these are the special projects that are on-going at the moment:
1. Kidz Strikeforce
Project Leader: Irenaus
Co-Leader: Meiqi
Objective:
To come up with a 15-20min sequence or choreography that is fun and entertaining to kids. Will need to come up with an interesting storyline for kids to follow and to engage & amuse them. Currently there's already a basic 5min choreography, so what's required now is to expand the sequence along the basic ideas and also add in more audience participation. It can start off as a performance for our children church, but may eventually be used for reaching out to kids elsewhere (JAMS, childcare/learning centres, orphanages, maybe even overseas!). Think Big!
2. Hip Pickles
Project Leader: Shuting
Co-Leader: Joan
Objective:
To decipher suitable Hip Pickles' gigs and teach it to the rest of the Strikeforce. May need to involve retrofitting or improvising our drums or toys to suit the gigs. May also need to simplify or improvise some of their strokes to suit our different skill levels. It can start off as a 'breaking-down' of their gigs and learning/teaching the individual parts so as to 'reproduce' the gig, but eventually will need to think about how to evolve and transform the gigs so we can make them our own!
3. UDM Improvements
Project Leader: Yuhong
Co-Leader: Darshan
Objective:
To restore physically our UDMs to their former glory and think of ways to further improve them. Involves physical repair and restoration of the UDM skin as well as water piping & electrical circuitry. Will also need to experiment with various improvements to the UDMs like installation of confetti tubes and upgrading of lights.
4. Bucket Drumkit
Project Leader: Nick
Co-Leader: Kaili
Objective:
To design and create a prototype of a drumkit by using only buckets/plastic bins. The design of the prototype is already out, and the main rack of the bucket drumkit is also complete. Currently the team is sourcing/shopping for materials/bins. Will need to experiment on the optimal way of fixing the buckets & bins to the rack and eventually make it work as another equipment that we can use as part of our gigs!
5. New UDM Choreography
Project Leader: Chowkiat
Co-Leader: Ian
Objective:
To experiment and come up with a new choreography involving the UDMs. May involve new stick tricks or team dynamics. Includes training and teaching of the new choreography.
6. Perspex 'Taiko' Drums
Project Leader: Yuhong
Co-Leader: Luke
Objective:
To design and create a prototype of fully-transparent 'taiko' drums that can complement our existing UDMs. Will need to resolve on the physical connections/support, external design, as well as technicalities of internal lighting and acoustics. May also need to think about how the 'taiko' drums will be positioned and played in relation to the UDMs.
7. Crazy Army
Project Leader: Julia
Co-Leader: Haoshan
Objective:
To record our very own rendition of 'Crazy Army' and put it on Youtube. The initial recording has been done and we'll need to do some post editing of the soundtrack. May require re-recording if the sound or the music is not good enough. The sequences should also be properly documented so that it can be taught to the new members when the need arises.
8. Africa
Project Leader: Esther
Co-Leader: Valerie
Objective:
To record our very own rendition of 'Africa' and put it on Youtube. The initial recording has been done and we'll need to do some post editing of the soundtrack. May require re-recording if the sound or the music is not good enough. The sequences should also be properly documented so that it can be taught to the new members when the need arises.
This list is only but the beginning! As Boon has said, he has numerous other exciting project ideas that he has in mind for us to embark on, so let's get over the current ones asap. Project leaders, please make full use of the manpower that has been assigned to you. The projects should move faster or broader with more manpower, and not the other way round. We'll expect an periodic update from all of you regarding the progress. Most of us should have been assigned to at least 1 of the projects, so lets contribute in whatever ways we can! For those currently not assigned to any projects, please approach Chin Hua during MTT and he'll assign you.Project Leader: Irenaus
